You must ensure that the oil pressure is in tune with the manufacturer specifications at all times but must also make sure that the oil is in very good condition. The pipe that feeds lubricant to the unit must be clean and clear of any contaminant, as if not this will cause the bearings to score and fall out of balance.
Avoid Carbon Build-up
It's crucial for you to take the vehicle in for servicing at manufacturer-recommended intervals. This will help avoid a buildup of carbon within the engine that can lead to contamination and will also ensure that the oil filter is cleaned or replaced before it can impede proper flow.
Check Oil Life
Engine oil is certainly designed to work at high temperatures, but it will degrade with the passage of time and if you extend those service intervals then you will exponentially increase the chance of failure.
Change Inlet Pipes
The oil inlet pipes should be changed periodically to make sure that carbon deposits or sludge do not build up on the interior lining. Should any of this contamination dislodge and find its way into the turbo, failure would be instantaneous.
